Sunday marked the first time in Danica Patrick’s career that she has finished outside the top 10 at the Indy 500. Was it because of bad racing or a wreck that put her out of the race? Kind of . . . But she was at fault for neither of those 2 problems. Ryan Briscoe, almost intentionally, clipped Patrick while exiting his stop on pit road. Danica was peacefully driving down the outside lane when Briscoe impatiently sped up in an attempt to cut her off. Instead, he took them both out of the race. The impact instantly snapped Patrick’s rear axle, putting the Go Daddy machine out of commission for the remainder of the race. In a post race interview, Danica is clearly shaken, and rightly so. After coming off her big win in Japan several weeks ago, she was clearly in the running to take the Indy this year. Those dreams were put to rest after the accident.
Hats off, Danica, you ran a good race for the entirety
