Hopefully one of the continuing themes you will find on my site is the relationship between intelligence and sports. As a geek/sports enthusiast, I think it is important to shed some light into the importance of intelligence in sports.
I know, most of the intelligence in sports has been relegated to the coaches bench and, even more often than that, further down the line as the primary roles of coaching have shifted towards fundraiser and recruiter. Nevertheless, I believe wholeheartedly that give two athletes of similar physical talent, the one with greater intellectual talent will prevail.
My evidence? Hopefully I can present that over the course of this blogs life by showing how certain players, teams, etc. have outsmarted better talent.
Our first installment will be next week: Analyzing the Carolina vs. Kansas game.
